ITINERARY
D1-09/12/2019 Chengdu > Jiuzhai Valley (drive 428km/8.5hrs)
Your guide will pick-up you at your hotel at 8:00am and then drive to Jiuzhaigou all the day. Jiuzhaigou is the TOP 10 most beautiful national parks in China, so today your West China exploration will start from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou. It is a long overland tour today, about 428 kms, but travel will not be boring for you with the companion of newly built Tibetan villages , Qiang Ethnic Minority People villages, Diexi Lake, etc.
Arrive in Jiuzhaigou in the late afternoon, and have a good rest in hotel today.
D2-09/13/2019 Jiuzhai Valley Excursion
Today you will enjoy the beautiful Jiuzhaigou National park all the day.
The Y-shapted Jiuzhaigou valley actually are consisted of 3 long valleys: Shuzheng valley, Rize valley and Zezha valley. In each of the valley, many beautiful lakes, waterfalls, rivers and virgin forest are scattered. Local Tibetan granted each of them romandic names, such as Panda Sea, Pearl Sea, Long Sea, etc, and these lakes shining like jade, pearl in the mountain and forest. Jiuzhaiogou valley could be the best gift from our nature, and it deserves the fame of Fairy Land on the earth!
D3-09/14/2019 Jiuzhaigou > Rorgai > Xiehe (drive 500km/9hrs)
It will be an overland tour today too, your guide will take you up the Tibetan plateau of Rorgai grassland. You will enjoy the flat and wide Rorgai grassland and Sangke Grassland covered the earth and is looked like a green carpet under the blue sky, and the back paved highway crossed on the carpet and is leading us to the end of sky. Tibetan villages and yaks add much vitality on this carpet. Please get away from all of the worries when you are travelling in such beautiful land!
And you will drop a visit in ancient Langmusi Monastery between Sichuan and Gansu province.

Visit the huge Labrang Monastery, which is one of the five largest Yellow School Monasterys in Tibet, and the butter flower is the most in Tibetan plateau, also the amazing Tibetan culture. And then you will head for Tongren in Qinghai province, enjoy the yellow river and mountain landscape en route.
In the afternoon you will drop a visit in Xia Wutun temple, which is the cradle of Tibetan Regong artist in Thangka. Almost every family paint Thangka picture here.

D5-09/16/2019 Tongren > Xining > Qinghaihu Lake (drive 305km/4.5hrs)
In the morning head for Longwu temple, which used to be temple of Saka section, but now Gelupa section. You will enjoy many magnificent painted palaces and pagodas. And then drive to Qinghaihu lake in the afternoon. Enjoy the mountain and Tibetan village en routes.
Arrive in Qinghaihu lake in the late afternoon, and have a panorama view of the huge lake on plateau. Night in local hotel.
D6-09/17/ 2019 Qinghaihu Lake > Zhangye (drive 480km/8hrs)
Qinghaihu is the largest lake on Tibetan plateau, also a paradise of a lot of birds. In the morning you can walk around the lake for a while to enjoy its beauty. And then drive to Zhangye in Ganshu province all the day. Zhangye is one of the famous towns on the ancient Silk Road. Night in local hotel.
D7-09/18/2019 Zhangye > Badain Jaran Town (drive 310km/4.5hrs)
The Danxia Landform in Zhangye could be the best in China. In the morning you will head for the Qicai Danxia Geo Park to explore this wonder of the earth. It is amazing to enjoy so many collorful danxia mountain here. In the afternoon drive to Badain Jaran town in Inner Mongolia area. Enjoy the sparse desert en route. Night in local hotel.
D8-09/19/2019 Badain Jaran Desert Expedition (drive 4-5hrs)
In the morning you will head for the Dadanjilin Geo National Park, which is the third largest desert in China, also the most beautiful desert in China. Your driver will take you to experience the waving desert, climbing up and down one and another desert mountain in the car. And there are also a lot of beautiful lakes in the desert.
Today you will stay in local shepherd’s Yurt on the some lakeside. In the evening, you enjoy the beautiful night sky with stars as well as the quietness of desert.
D9-09/20/2019 Badain Jaran Desert Expedition (drive 4-5hrs)
Get up in the early morning to watch the Sun Rise on desert, and then continue the driving tour in the sea of desert. And exit the desert at noon, and then drive to the Alashan Youqi town close to Badan desert.
D10-09/21/2019 Alashan Youqi > Yinchuan (drive 573km/9hrs)
All the day you will drive to Yinchuan of Ningxia Muslim Region, and enjoy the gebi desert en route. Night in local hotel.
D11-09/22/2019 Yinchuan > Yan’an (drive 400km/5.5hrs)
In the morning drop a visit in the big Mosque in Yinchuan, where you will learn about the Muslim culture in China. And then you will continue your overland tour to Yan’an in North Shan’an Xi province, which is located on the plateau of Loess Plateau. And local residence are known for living in the Loess caves.
In the afternoon you will drop a visit in Yangjialin, which used to be the headquarter of Chinese Communist Party during the Second World War. The CCP leader of Chairman Mao and his colleague all lived in these shabby caves till the end of the victory of Anti-Japanese envision war.
Tonight you will stay in one of local Loess Cave style hotel.
D12-09/23/2019 Yan’an > Hukou > Xi’an (drive 522kms/8hrs)
In the morning you will pass by a lot of beautiful mountain and arrive at Hukou, where the Yellow River formed a huge waterfall. It is a heart-shocked wonder on the earth. And you will also have a bird’s eye view of huge Yellow river on mountain.
In the afternoon you will continue 3 hours’ driving and arrive in ancient Xi’an city. Night in local hotel.
D13- 09/24/2019 Xi’an City Tour
As the most ancient city in China, you will explore the glorious culture of Xi’an 2000 years ago. Firstly you will be visit the Terra-cotta Warriors Museums, which was praised as one of “the Eight Wonders of the world”. It is also the Mausoleum of the first emperor Qin.
In the afternoon, you will be escort to Xian Ancient City Wall. The city wall built in Ming Dynasty. You can stroll on the wall by walking or cycling (optional) there.
Next you will have some time at the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. It was originally built to hold sutras and figurines of Buddha that Xuanzang brought back to China from India.
D14-09/25/2019 Xi’an > Guangyuan > Chengdu (drive 750km/10hrs)
Today our driver and guide will be back Chengdu by 10 hours’ driving. You can go with them back Chengdu , or just fly away from Xi’an. End of the tours.
