Mount Jiuhua, or Jiuhuashan Mountain, is one of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China. It is located in Qingyang County, Chizhou City, Anhui Province. It is known as "the first mountain in southeast China". Because of the beautiful peaks, different peaks, looking like nine brothers standing side by side, so it is also called "Jiuzi Mountain". According to legend, it is the Taoist field of Tibetan Bodhisattva, which Buddhism considers it a symbol of "great filial piety" and "great will".
Jiuhua Mountain to Huacheng Temple as the center, there are more than 80 temples. Among them, the main temples are Huacheng Temple, Dongya Temple, Ganlu Temple, centenarian Palace, Gion Temple.
Huacheng Temple is the main temple of Mount Jiuhua. It was founded in the Tang Dynasty (756 AD). The local gentry invited the Shilla monk Jin Qiaojue to live in his residence. In the early year of Jianzhong (780AD), Tang Dezong gave the temple the name "Huacheng Temple". In 794, when Jin Qiaojue died at the age of 99, monks regarded him as the embodiment of Tibetan Bodhisattva, and Huacheng Temple became the temple of Tibetan Bodhisattva.
East Cliff (also for the east Rock) Temple, one of the four jungles of Jiuhua Mountain. In the late years of the Tang Dynasty, Jin Qiaojue, the son of the Silla king, often came to the Jiuhua Mountain. In 757, Zhuge Jie fa heart for the Jindi Tibet to build Huacheng Temple, for its residence.
Manlu Temple, one of the four jungles of Jiuhua Mountain. Built in the Qing Dynasty AD 1667, the legend of the construction night, the mountain pine trees are all dripping nectar, hence the name.
Centenarian Palace, one of the four jungles of Jiuhua Mountain. Xingxing, also known as Zen Temple, was built in the Ming Dynasty. During the reign of Wanli, the flawless monk spent more than 20 years to copy 81 volumes of the Dafang Guang Buddhist Huayan Sutra. The monk died at the age of 126, and his body did not rot for three years. His disciples worshipped his body with gold.
Gion Garden Temple, one of the four jungles of Mount Jiuhua, is the largest temple of Mount Jiuhua. It was first built in the Ming Dynasty.
In addition, there are Tiantai Temple, Moon Temple, Chandar's Sandlin, Ganlu Temple, Shanghai Zen Hall, Hui Ju Temple, Second Temple, Cuiyun Nunnery, Cuifeng Temple, Chaoyin Jing House and other temples.
