Bayinbuluke is a beautiful water grass encompassed by snow mountains. It is not exaggerated at all to call it the 'the hometown for swans' because the swans here account for third fifths of the whole world.
Bayinbuluke has the meaning of 'fertile water' in Mongolian language. It is situated in central Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the hinterland of Tianshan Mountain ranges with the altitude from 2,300 meters to 3,100 meters. The climate is quite mild, so there are not distinct differences in four seasons. As it is the rolling snow mountains that surround the grassland, the melting snow abundantly waters the lush grassland of 100,000 hectares. Bayinbuluke is like a child within the embrace of the Snow Mountains, who is doted on endlessly. The abundant rainfall, crisscrossed streams, dotted lakes make it one of the most productive place in Xinjiang.
The Swan Lake of Bayinbuluke sits on the grassland, southwest of Bayin County. It is factually a large swamp made up of many series-wound small lakes, being the first Nature Reserve for the swan in China.
Bayinbuluke is home to swans including thousands of swans of different sorts just like whooping swan, cygnet, whooper swan and so forth. They nest in the marsh flourishing with float grass in quest of pleasure and food in the lake. They either wring the graceful long-necks to and for or preen the white feather or sing loudly at the leisure time.
What strikes most is the water ballet when the purely white swans pose elegantly and gracefully. Now and then the swans stand upside down, leaving the body sinking into the water vertically, at times, they capture the floating grass blade, turning the neck randomly. For another moment, they may crouch down in the grass in search of delicate leaves. The long necks of the swans endow them with graceful posture. When looking for food, their necks can bend and wring at will, and the soft arcs are lined on the water.
In the locals' eyes, swans are pure enough to be regarded as the birds of chastity and the symbol of auspice. Here, swans are never afraid of being captured, and they can live carefree and reproduce at ease.
In addition to the swans, nearly 130 types of birds can be found here including golden eagles, snow cocks, Baijian eagles etc. Bayinbuluke is always in expectation of their coming. He is just like a friend who stretches his arms and beckons the migratory birds at any time.
Bayinbuluke grassland is populated by 9 ethnic minorities such as Mongolian, Han, Tibetan, Ha etc, developing diversified ethnic flavors. The annual horse race and toxophily in Nadamu festival make your trip more interesting and unforgettable.
When it is in summer, Bayinbuluke grassland is decorated with green trees and blooming flowers. Flocks of sheep and cattle are running all over the grassland. The summer resort Gongnaisi is characteristic with abundant verdure, the gurgling streams, moss scattered all over the bizarre stones. It is really a good idea to spend the leisure time here.
