Train could be the earliest modern transportation. It originated from the industrial revolution in early of 18th century. And today the technology of trains have evolved much more than the earliest steam train, such as Maglev, bullet train, etc.
China built a lot of trails in order to meet the huge need of transportation. You can either enjoy the 430 km/ per hour's high train ( EMU ), the 200 kms/ per hour's bullet train, also the oldest steam train in remote country side. Traveling by train is cheap and safe , also a chance to encounter.

D1 Shanghai Arrival ( Maglev Train )
Arrive in Shanghai Pudong International airport. Meet with your guide and then head for the city by the maglev train. It is the only Maglev train in China, in the 30 minutes' riding, you will enjoy the experience of flying on rails.
D2 Shanghai City Tour (Yu Garden/ Shanghai World Financial Center / Xin Tian Di)
Our tour continues with a visiting to Yu Garden, famous for its rock gardens, pavilions, halls and ponds. Shanghai World Financial Center, a super tall skyscraper which reaches 492.3 meters (1,615.2 ft) and became the tallest structure on mainland China, including Hong Kong, as well as the world's third tallest building (including unfinished ones), after the Burj Dubai and Taipei 101.Then we will go to Xin Tian Di (Heaven on Earth), a conservation area of traditional low-rise homes, formerly part of the French quarter.
D3 Shanghai / Mt Taishan (D Express Train)
In the morning we will board the D train from Shanghai to Taishan. D76(07:28 / 14:31 ). You will enjoy the wide China coast line along the route of Suzhou, Nanjing, Changzhou, and arrive in Taishan in the afternoon. Meet with your guide there, and then drop a visit in Confucius Temple.
D4 Mountain Taishan Visit
In the morning we will head for Mountain Taishan. You will enjoy the ancient cultural mountain all the day, learn a lot of Chinese culture and tales.
D5 Taishan / Beijing
Take D34 (09:46 / 14:04 ) in the morning. Enjoy the landscape en route, and we will pass by Ji'nan, Changzhou. Arrive in Beijing in the afternoon. Free day in the afternoon.
D6 Beijing City Excursion (Great Wall / Ming Tomb / Beijing Roast Duck)
The Great Wall will be our first destination. We will walk on this ancient stone stage on feet, and trace ancient history of China through the old wall and mountains. In the afternoon, a visit to the Ming Tomb will be an interesting adventure for us, where we will see how the emperors desired for immortal. In the evening we will enjoy a delicious Chinese banquet with the well-known Beijing Roast Duck.
D7 Beijing City Excursion (Heaven Temple / Forbidden City / Summer Palace/) / Train to Xi'an
In the morning, we will walk around in the quiet and wide Heaven Temple, which is used to worship emperor's ancestors and pray for a harvest season. Today we will also explore the mysterious palace of Chinese emperors, the Forbidden City, which boasts having 9999 rooms and could be the biggest palace in the world. In the afternoon we will have a leisure walk in the emperors' royal garden, the Summer Palace. After dinner we will board night train Z19 (21:18 / 08:19 ) ( Direct Fast Train ) to Xi'an. Stay overnight on the soft sleeper of the train.
D8 Xi'an Arrival / Xi'an City Tours (The Terra cotta Museum / Old City Wall)
Arrive in Xi'an in the morning. After breakfast and a short break in the hotel, we will begin our trip in Xi'an, which had been the most prosperous capitals for over 1000 years. Surely the Terra Cotta museum is the most important spot. It will be amazing experience to visit these old warriors and horses under earth for over 2000 years. Then we will visit the Old City Wall of Xi'an, you may have the chance to bicycle around this Wall to unfold the long history of China.
D9 Xi'an City Tour (Wild Goose Tower / Great Mosque / Hui Community / Jiaozi Dinner & Tang dancing show)
The Wild Goose Pagoda will tell us how the Chinese traveled over ten thousand miles to probe Buddhism. We will visit the Great Mosque, which is the largest existing Mosque in China. Enjoy a Jiaozi (dumplings) Dinner, and watch Tang dancing show in the evening.
D10 Train to Chengdu
Have fun at your own in the morning, then board the K train ( fast train ) from Xi'an to Chengdu by K5 (13:20 / 05:23 ), enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way.
D11 Chengdu Arrival / Chengdu City Tour (Panda Garden / Jinli Old Street / Kuanzhai Alley )
As Chengdu is the hometown of Panda, naturally we will head for Panda Garden firstly, which feed over 30 pandas all over the year. It will be an amazing experience to make friends with so many lovely pandas! If you offer certain donation, you can even take a picture with them in your chest! After lunch we will visit Jinli Old Street and Kuanzhai Alley, both of which are symbols of west Sichuan folklore.
D12 Leshan Giant Buddha / Shibanxi Steam Train
Today we will head for Leshan City, where the Giant Buddha and Shibanxi steam train locate in. Out cultivated in the deep cliff 1000 years ago, the Giant Buddha is playing the important role of depressing the surging rivers. We will take a cruise to adore its overview. After lunch, we will continue drive to Shixi Town, Qianwei County to catch the steam train. The Jiayang steam train has been running for almost half a century. It is the only living narrow gauge steam train in the world. It will take us 2.5 hours to ride the round trip of the steam train, then we will transfer back to Chengdu City.
D13 EMU Train to Chongqing / Yangtze Cruise
In the morning we are free to explore this ancient and modern city. After lunch, we will board the newest bullet Train to Chongqing City by D5110 ( 13:30 / 15:39 ) . This train is called the Bullet Train, showing its high speed. Upon arrival, be met and transferred to the harbor to board the cruise and begin our Yangtze journey!
D14 Yangtze River - Three Gorges Excursion
Shore excursion to Shibaozhai or Fengdu (depends on sailing schedule). Entertainment and organized activities on board, with Captain's welcome dinner to attend. Stay overnight on board.
D15 Yangtze River - Three Gorges Excursion
Shore excursion to Shennong Stream or Lesser 3 Gorges (depends on sailing schedule), cruise sails through Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge. Entertainment and organized activities on board, with the farewell dinner party in the evening. Stay overnight on board.
D16 Yangtze River - Three Gorges Excursion / Wuhan
Shore excursion to the Three Gorges Dam project in the morning. Today we will sail through Xiling Gorge, which is famous for its high mountains and lofty hills. Disembark upon arrival at Yichang after lunch, and then transfer to the bus station to catch the coach to Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei Province. It will take around 4.5 hours to get there. Upon arrival, be met and transferred to the hotel.
D17 Wuhan / Guangzhou / HK
In the morning, we will board the fastest high train ( EMU ) to Guangzhou by G1039 ( 09:13/ 13:08 ) , and then transfer to HK by express train.
CE-CT-14 Jiayang Steam Train Tour
The Jiayang steam train has been running for almost half a century in Qianwei County, Leshan City, Sichuan Province. It was in 1958 that the Jiayang Coal Mine (predecessor to the Sichuan Jiayang Group) built the Ba-Shi (Bajiao Valley-Shixi) Railway - a total length of 19.84 kilometers - and bought trains from the Shijiazhuang Steam Engine Locomotive Factory in Hebei Province to solve the problem of coal transportation.

D1 Chengdu / Leshan / Shixi ( Car )
Today we will drive to Leshan to visit the Giant Buddha statue first. Out cultivated in the deep cliff 1000 years ago, the Giant Buddha is playing the important role of depressing the surging rivers. We will take a cruise to adore its over view. In the afternoon we will head for Qianwei County. We will take a ferry to across the river, then continue driving to Shixi, a small town of Qianwei County. There are only 4 trains moving between Shixi Station and Huangcun Station. So we will catch the 4th one, which starts at 5:30p.m. and arrive at Bajiao Station at 6:45p.m. The steam train's engine roars when riding on the track, making everyone recall the old days. Upon arrival, check-in the local guesthouse.
D2 Steam train Riding
In the morning we will walk around in Bajiao Old Industrial Town, where there are old style British houses, for this place was once the residential area of workers who worked in the Jiayang Sino-Anglo Coal Mine. Then we will catch the 2nd train which starts in Bajiao Station at 10:45a.m. and arrives in Shixi Station at 12:00p.m. There we will transfer back to Chengdu, end this fantastic journey with sweet memory.
