Aba is a great land for tourist. The land owns Jiuzhaigou Valley, Huanglong Valley and the habitat of panda. Others, it owns five national natural reservation which includes Mt.Four Girls and Ruoergai Marsh. The rolling mountains, crossover rivers and rare plant and animal structured the fantastic land !
Jiuzhaigou:
Jiuzhaigou is a narrow strip of lowland, four hundred kilometers long, in the Minshan Mountain Range in Nanping County, northeast Sichuan. It got its name because there are nine Tibetan villages in the valley. The valley is home to a great variety of plants and rare animals, such as the giant panda, lesser panda, golden monkey, and antelope.
Plateau Bright Pearl-Ruoergai
The pearl on the plateau-Ruoergai county is one of the nuclear areas of the Grand Jiuzhai International Tourism Zone. It is located in the east to the Qing-Tibetan Plateau with a territory of 10,620 square kilometers. The watershed between Yellow River and Yangtze River divides it into east and west parts. In the east, mountains are continuous and overlapped by green trees. The area is 98,000 hectares for woods with forest waves; in the west, there is vast grassland growing luxuriant water grasses, which make it possible to have natural pastures of over 800,000 hectares upon which herds of cattle and sheep survive.
One of the Six Most Beautiful Prairies in China. People call it “The Oasis on the Northwestern Plateau in Sichuan Province”. There exists the peat swamp marsh on the plateau, largest one in the world. The wet land of Ruoergai county is the natural preserve zone of national level. Also there are national-level black-neck crane preserve and spotted deer preserve zones. Reputed as the Hometown of Black-Necked Crane. Ruoergai teems with such famous and precious herb medicines as musk, caterpillar fungus, fritillary, antler and snow-lotus etc.
The First Estuary of zigzag Yellow River
The First Estuary of zigzag Yellow River is situated in front of the Suoke Tibetan Temple at Tangke commune in Ruoergai County. Here is the confluence of Yellow River and White River forming the first grand turning of zigzag Yellow River. At this point, there are many isles and red willows become forest, dancing in the breeze. Meanwhile the pheasants and hares hide inside the forest. Water birds flock and fishing boats cross the rivers. All these present a panorama beautifully named by Chinese and foreign scientists as the “Solemn Mirage in the Universe’.
“Thousands of tiny streams form a grand river. One has come out of the dangerous shoals after turning of zigzags. The surging and torrential flows benefit the people, The powerful source originates from the First Estuary of Yellow River.
Flower Lake
The view area is situated at the heart zone of Ruoergai wet land, the national natural preserve area. No.1 of the Six Most Beautiful Swamp and Wetlands in China. There are 10 kinds of plateau-marsh rare and precious animals in the world, such as black- neck cranes, yellow ducks and plateau fish. Ruoergai Prairie is the smoothest and vastest wet-land grassland in China stretching dozens of kilometers. The wild is boundless and fertile reaching far and wide.
Flower Lake is inserted like blue gem on the grassland reflecting bright and gold-like light. One may see a tremendous amount of green. Near the lake side, reed grows luxuriantly. Yellow ducks, stream-gulls and black-neck cranes often perch at the lake-side teasing each other. Swans, white cranes and black-neck cranes flock together dancing or hovering. The joyful larks are flying and soaring in the sky. When exposing the situation, you seem to enter dreamlike animal kingdom.
Langmu God Living Canyon
This scenic spot is located at the northern foot of Guo-er-mang Ridge, 90 kilometers away from the county neighboring Gansu province. As there is a tiger’s lair behind Namo Temple and the rock is extremely similar to a fairy maiden inside the lava cave, it is named as Da-cang-na-mo meaning “Fairy-in-Tiger’s Lair”. There live such nationalities as Tibetan-diffuse Buddhism and Islam, but also by the dangerously sleep geography yet with the graceful natural scenery. People call it “Little Oriental Switzerland”. One of “2005 China’s Charming Town”.
The main scenic spots are: Ge’erdi Temple, Bailong River Source, Fairy Cave, Tiger’s Lair and the peculiar view of the plateau canyon as well.
Rang Ba La - the place where the God of Wealth lives
Rangtang (also known as “Rangbala”) lies in the south-eastern verge of Qinghai Tibetan plateau and northwest of Aba Tibetan & Qiang Nationality Autonomous Prefecture. It is crowned with a pearl of the Tibetan & Qiang Nationality Culture Corridor. Mysterious ape gorge, grandeur Shangladongji Holy Mountain, spacious Rangbalatang, simple Risimanba castle and herding charm as well as the Fortune Yard jointly built up by Anduo, Jiarong, and Kangba people offer us a lot us a lot to further explore in such piece of sacred land.
Holy Land of Juerang Culture - Zhongrang Tang
Rangbala is a cultural relic site with a comparatively long history of Tibetan Buddhism Rang Sect, Queerji Monastery, Zangwa Monastery, and Zebuji Monastery are no doubt very representative amongst them. Marvelous temple and Buddha tower, century-old precious and rare relic sites, special God of Fortune, and majestic Buddhist fairs and festival bestow the mountains and rivers out there with divinity and spiritualism.
Stone Scripture of Bangtuo Monastery
Stone Scripture of Bangtuo Monastery is located in the Rongmuda town. The stone-carved Dazang Scripture falls into Bka’-‘gyur’ and Bstan-‘gyur, which was sculptured since the Zhengtong period of Ming Dynasty, lasting several generations of outstanding Tibetan craftsmen, and finally completed in the early of the Republic of China and end of Qing Dynasty, totally 500,000 pieces. Selected irregular rubbles, the Dazang Scripture and Buddha were carved on both sides of the rubbles, delicate sculpture, outstanding technique, and vivid texts and pictures make it the rare and valuable stone-carved classic of Tibetan literature, no wonder it is honored the pearl of China’ Buddhism culture, and it is listed onto the National Key Protection Units.
Zengke Monastery
Thanks to its unique Mila tower, colorful tower forest, delicate sculptures and painting, and magnificent monastery, it is considered the religious, artistic, and cultural representative.
Risimanba Castle.
The castle, located in the Zongke town, is 90 km away from the county, renowned as the “King of Tibetan Residential House”. Built in Yuan Dynasty, it is approximately 25.6 m, totally 9 floors, incorporating with the three characteristics of the Tibetan traditional residential house of Anduo, Jiarong, and Kangba respectively. As the oldest residential house with the most floors in the Aba prefecture, it is listed onto the Provincial Level Relic Protection Units.
Songpan:
Feature by the Memorial Monument Park of the Long March and the meeting relic of Mao Ergai, the Annals of the Long March is an important historic and cultural heritage, and pictures and chapters of great significance about the success of the Chinese revolution and the Long March. The immortal Long March spirit has not only highly generalized Songpan people’s unswerving spirit and constant efforts, but also greatly enriched Songpan tourism resource. In August, 1935, the Red Army entered Songpan in their Long March. On August 6 the Central Committee of the CCP held the Political Bureau conference in Sha Wo nearby Mao Ergai, called the Sha Wo meeting in history. On August 20, the Political Bureau Conference of historical significance was held in the Mao Ergai Suohua temple, which was called The Mao Ergai meeting. The Long March monument tablet garden is on the summit of the Yun Bao Mountain, in Chuanzhusi town. It consists of the monument, exhibition hall, large-scale group sculptures, and relief and so on, of which the monument is made up of the bronze statue of a Red Army soldier, a copper triangular prism tablet, and a white marble base, with the height of 41.3 meter. When the sitting sun shines upon the monument, it becomes so glimmering and sparkling that it deserves the title of the Number One Golden Monument in China.
Mt Siguniangshan
The Mt Siguniangshan is a national grade natural reserve well-known throughout China. The scenic zone is not far from Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province. If you go northwest from the provincial capital, pass Dujiangyan, and Wolong Panda Protection Zone and cross the verdant Balang Mountain, you will get to the scenic zone.
The scenic zone covers an area of 450 square kilometers and consists of the Siguniang Mountains, Shuangqiao Gully, Long Flats Gully and Lake Gully near them. The Siguniang Mountain has four peaks which stand side by side like four girls at the end of the Qionglai Mountain Ranges on the Aba Plateau. They rise 5355,5454, 5664 and 6250 meters above sea level. Enjoying the equal fame as 7556m-high Mount Gongga not far away which is know as “king of Sichuan’s mountains”, the Siguniang Mountains is honored as “queen of Sichuan’s mountains”.
The Siguniang Mountains are extremely beautiful. Their tops are covered with snow; their feet are zigzagged with murmuring streams all the year round. In spring and summer, birds sing and flowers give forth fragrance, snow water gurgles in deep valleys and golden pheasants dance in quiet forests. In deep autumn, red leaves dye the mountains red, silvery waterfalls hang on steep cliffs, wisps of smoke spiral from village chimneys and songs of herdsmen are heard. The scenes are so attractive that the mountains is compared to “the Alps in the East”.
The 30-kilometer-long Shuangqiao Gully is as alluring as a painted corridor. The gully is flat and broad. Brooks flow through it. Virgin forest clothes the ridges and dozens of peak such as the Five-Colour Mountain and the Hunter Peak are in different shapes and tower into the sky.
The Long Flats Gully is carpeted with age-old pines and cypresses. Waterfalls and springs babble and gurgle. An ancient horse trail zigzags through the forests.
The Lake Gully is dotted with lades. Of them, the biggest and the most beautiful are the Five-flower Lake and the Great Lake. The baby Lake is so clear that the local residents like to wash their newly-born babies in it. The lakes are surrounded by towering mountain peaks. It is quite strange that the scenes of four seasons can be found on the same mountains and waterfalls come from nowhere and disappear into nowhere.
Wolong Panda garden
As the earliest Nature reserve of protecting giant Pandas, Wolong Nature Reserve is situated in the transitional zone between the Sichuan basin and Tibet plateau. It is about 140 kms away Chengdu northwest, and covers an area of 2000 square kilometer. Wolong is worldwide known as the "Hometown of Giant Panda" because of its richness of Giant Pandas. With the help of WWF, China government has set scientific institute here to study and protect Panda, and they made long stride in the field of artificial breeding. New babies are born and grow up here nearly every year. In the fall of 2005, the number of new born reached at 16!
