D1 Arrive in Meizhou
Arrive in Meizhou by flight or train around noon today. Meet your local guide upon arrival and transfer to your hotel.
As Meizhou is widely known as an important ancestral home of Hakka people around the world, you will then visit a cluster of traditional Hakka Round Houses to learn more about the unique architecture and heritage of the Hakka community. In the evening, enjoy a taste of authentic Hakka cuisine at your own expense.
D2 Meizhou Tours
This morning, head to the beautiful Yannanfei Tea Tour Spots, a scenic area surrounded by lush tea plantations and green mountains. Take a relaxing walk among the vast tea gardens and enjoy the peaceful countryside scenery.
You will also have the opportunity to explore a traditional Hakka village and learn more about the lifestyle, architecture, and culture of the local Hakka people. Return to Meizhou city in the late afternoon.
D3 Meizhou – Dapu – Chaozhou
After breakfast, drive to Lingxia Village in Dapu County, where you will explore the historic village and discover its traditional houses and peaceful rural surroundings.
Continue to visit the Huaelou Building, a distinctive traditional Hakka building similar in style to the famous Hakka Tulou in Fujian. It offers another fascinating insight into the architectural traditions and community life of the Hakka people.
Continue your journey to Chaozhou and arrive in the late afternoon. Check in to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure.
D4 Chaozhou Tour
Your Chaozhou sightseeing begins in the morning with a visit to Longhu Ancient Village, a historic village dating back to the Ming Dynasty. Originally developed as a military station in Chaozhou, the village is now known for its traditional architecture and well-preserved historic atmosphere.
Next, visit the Han Yu Memorial, an important site dedicated to Han Yu, the renowned Tang Dynasty poet and government official who played an important role in Chaozhou’s history and cultural development.
In the afternoon, walk across the famous Guangji Bridge on the Han River, one of China’s most remarkable historic stone bridges. Enjoy the unique design of this ancient bridge while taking in views of the river and surrounding historic area.
Afterwards, enjoy some free time to explore Chaozhou Ancient City at your own pace. Chaozhou has strong historical connections with overseas Chinese communities, and its old streets are filled with traditional buildings, local shops, and delicious Chaozhou food. Keep an eye out for the distinctive Qilou-style arcaded buildings, a characteristic feature of the city’s historic architecture.
D5 Depart Chaozhou
