The new East Train Station officially opens and commences operations on Sunday, 8 May with bullet trains heading to Chongqing and Dazhou reported Sichuan News Network and Chengdu Wanbao.
Chengdu-Chongqing trains D1502, D1504 and D5106 and Chengdu-Dazhou trains D5182, D5184 and D5186 will be the first trains to depart from the transport hub that day. Tickets will be on sale from this Friday, 29 April at the station's counters or from ticket offices in the city.
The station is located in east Chengdu, within the Third Ring Road, at the Yinghui Lu and the Sha He Bao block.
Buses to the East Train Station
Some city bus routes have been altered to accommodate the train station. Lines 91 (from the Chengdu Air Base), 47 (from the Shuangliu Bus Station), 516 (from the Jinsha Bus Station), and 121 (from the Aviation Base Branch of the Sports School) will all stop at the station. Two new shuttle services, 2A and 2B, will ferry passengers from the East Train Station to Wu Gui Qiao and the North Train Station respectively. See detailed routes and timings below.

There are 32 roads surrounding the train station. New roads to the west and east of the station are named after famous Sichuan rivers whereas those north and southwards are named after mountains.
The new 68-hectare transport hub in West China took two years and 5 billion yuan to construct. It is expected to serve 207,000 passengers daily by 2020 and 376,000 passengers by 2030.
Improvements to bus network
In addition, adjustments have been made to 22 bus lines in the Wenjiachang, Cuqiao and Sha He Bao districts, reported the Tianfu Morning Post. From 20 April, there is at least one bus service leading to the city centre from these areas, to better serve the residents.
