September29- Panda Project: Global Search for Chengdu Pambassador, which has drawn the most attention, held the final campaign in the afternoon. Six candidates out of twelve won the campaign and became Pambassadors after going through six evaluation sessions of Q&A, impromptu speech, identifying panda food, setting up panda shelter (video competition), talent show and panda narrator competition. They are Wang Yuwen (Taiwan), David (France), Ali (Sweden), Huang Xi (China Mainland), Ashley (America) and Yumilo Kajiwara (Japan).
In the following month, the six Pambassadors will meet the six legendary celebrity pandas within touching distance, prepare food for them and take care of the baby pandas. Also they will explore the life code of panda and inspect the first wild panda habit in the world-China Panda Valley, together with Doctor Zhang Zhihe, a Panda Scientist. What’s more, they will visit the old habitat of panda for eight million years in Chengdu Nature Reserve and search the traces of wild giant panda.
The activity of “Unique Experience, Touching Panda”, initiated by World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and hosted by Chengdu Giant Panda Research Base, recruits from the world applicants who are animals lovers, enthusiastic about protecting environment and full of social commitment to be “Chengdu Pambassador”.
It is said that this Panda Project, lasting for over a month, has attracted 61615 applicants from 52 countries and regions. The committee of wildlife conservation experts selected sixty candidates and then twelve finalists were selected by the netizens and wildlife conservation experts. After one week’s professional training from September 22 to 28, the twelve finalists participated in the ultimate campaign in the afternoon of September 29.
