An activity called "Wear cheongsam to Anren" is being held in the town until July 26, inviting tourists to sample a taste of the lifestyle during the Republic of China (1912-1949). Tourists will see many elements from that era such as old-style buildings, rickshaws, an electric tram and oiled paper umbrellas.
Anren ancient town has well preserved streets and buildings from the time of the Republic of China. It is said to have the most civil museums in China.
