China (Sichuan) International Tourism Investment Conference opens in Chengdu, Sichuan province on July 23.
The conference is organized by Sichuan provincial government and the Investment Association of China, aiming at fostering high-quality tourism projects in the province.
The event will last for three days, during which 40 tourism projects selected from provincial cities and counties will be displayed to attract possible investment from travel agencies, enterprises and financial institutions.
Sichuan, which is a prime destination for tourism, has generated in excess of 307 billion yuan ($49.4 billion) in tourism revenues in the first half of 2015. The tourism revenues of Chengdu as the provincial capital were more than 135.6 billion yuan, corresponding to nearly 45 percent of the provincial total, in the first six months.
