Greece Tourism Poster Exhibition Held in Chengdu
On May 20, 2024, the Greece Tourism Poster Exhibition was officially opened in Chengdu European Center!. 
This event is co-sponsored by Foreign Affairs Office of Chengdu People's Government, Greek Embassy in China and Management Committee of Chengdu High-tech Zone; and China Exploration implemented the detailed works of site design, construction, layout, poster making and opening ceremony. Dr. Yenios Carpalaris , the Greece Ambassador to China attended the ceremony, and delivered speeches respectively.
In the early 20th century, the Greek government took active measure to promote and develop its domestic tourism. At that time, the publicity work of Greek tourism was mainly ads posters and pamphlets, which reached at its the "golden age" in 1950s. The Greece government invited artists from various fields to cooperate, including painters, architects, photographers and designers, to show the world the beauty of Greece as the birthplace of western civilization through plane painting. These posters, inspired by Greek mythology, folk traditions and contemporary European paintings, are popular for their high aesthetic value and are now favorites for collectors. Each poster is clearly marked with the artist's name, graphic design studio, and serial number. These travel posters have eternal artistic value both in both the use of lines and colors.
As part of Sino-Euro friendship and cultural exchange activities, Greek Tourism Poster Exhibition is held in Chengdu from May 20th , 2024 to June 20th , 2024. From Athens to Thessaloniki, from blue and white Santorini to the birthplace of Minos civilization, these almost 100 years’ Greek posters from 1920 to 2010, showed Chengdu citizens the beautiful scenery and long history and culture of Greece. !
